In 2011, Patrick McDonnell published “Me…Jane,” a Caldecott Honor picture book about young Jane Goodall, her plush toy chimpanzee Jubilee, and her childhood journey to make her dream of helping animals come true. In 2017, the book was adapted as a children’s musical at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Patrick, an animal welfare advocate and longtime admirer of Dr. Goodall, has also created numerous MUTTS comic strips honoring Jane and her work.
Many of these pieces, as well as Patrick's "Me ... Jane" book and animated short are available for sale in the Jane Goodall Institute's online store. |
