When 26-year-old Jane Goodall first arrived in Gombe, Tanzania to study wild chimpanzees under the mentorship of famed paleoanthropologist Dr. Louis Leakey, she had no higher degree and had never been to a landscape quite like Western Tanzania. Thankfully, she gained the support and help of local Tanzanians, who gave her insights on the forests and the chimpanzees. Every day, Jane would climb up into the hills of Gombe, away from the serenity of Lake Tanganyika, to watch the wild chimpanzees of from afar - before she could get close enough to make some of her most groundbreaking observations.
This topographic Gombe chimpanzee shirt captures the beautiful rolling hills of Gombe, featuring a view from what is now known as Jane's Peak. Bring a piece of Gombe home with this one-of-a-kind organic cotton tee!
